Gilmour Academy, an independent, Catholic, coed, day and residential school in Gates Mills, Ohio. If there was ever a time for transformational education focused on competent, courageous leadership, hospitality and authenticity, it is now. While the global news cycle is filled with examples of intolerance, at Gilmour we seek instead to practice our Holy Cross mission to develop the competence to see and the courage to act in creating a more humane and just society, inspire a strong desire for excellence, encourage a deep sense of self-worth, and foster a sincere appreciation for the world we all share. Gilmour Academy was founded in 1946 upon the teachings of Blessed Father Basil Moreau, founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, who more than 175 years ago said, “We shall always place education side by side with instruction; the mind will not be cultivated at the expense of the heart.”
